B.Sc. in Radiology & Imaging Technology - 4 Years
3 Years of Course Study + 1 Year of Compulsory Internship
(Annual Intake: 20 Seats)

Objective :

X-Ray images, Colour Doppler, Ultrasound, EEG, CT-scan and MRI imaging are machine based processes employed to diagnose internal working condition of the human body down to the level of a 'cell'. The objective of the program is to prepare professionals, technicians, who are proficient in the proper use and interpretation of these radiological imagining technologies.

Career Options :

There are ample opportunities as radiologist in Diagnostic Imaging Centres, super specialty hospitals, government and private hospitals. Self-employment opportunities as well as option to pursue higher studies are also available to radiologist.

Age :

Minimum 17 years completed.

Eligibility :

A PASS in Higher Secondary Course (+2) in Science Stream with Biology / Zoology should have been studied as ONE of the subjects.

Condition for Eligibility :

Candidates those who are NOT belonging to Tamil Nadu State OR NOT COMPLETED their Higher Secondary Course or other equivalent examinations under Tamil Nadu State Board seeking admission into the course should obtain the Eligibility Certificate from the Tamil Nadu Dr.MGR Medical University, Chennai prior to admission. This is a mandatory.

  2. General Physics, Radiation Physics & Physics of Diagnostic Radiology
  3. Radio diagnosis Equipments, Maintenance and Quality Control.

SECOND YEAR

Internal Papers :

  1. Communicative English
  2. Computer Fundamentals



External Papers (Internal Assessment, Theory, Oral and Practical):

  1. Clinical Radiography
  2. X-ray Film / Image processing Techniques including Dark Room Techniques
  3. Contrast & Special Radiography procedures.

THIRD YEAR

Internal Papers :

  1. Maintaining Log Book and Activities



External Papers (Internal Assessment, Theory, Oral and Practical):

  1. Equipments of modern Imaging Modalities
  2. Modern Imaging Techniques and Recent Trends in Imaging
  3. Quality Control, Radiobiology & Radiation Safety in Radiodiagnosis / Imaging

FINAL YEAR
